Community Alert: JOIN HONORARY CHAIR COUNCILMAN VINCENT SARMIENTO & CITY ELECTED OFFICIALS AT THE ANNUAL RELAY FOR LIFE OF SANTA ANA

SANTA ANA, CA (April 10, 2014) – Relay for Life officials gave Councilman Vincent Sarmiento the privilege of naming him honorary chair for this year’s relay. Councilman Sarmiento will join City Elected Officials and the American Cancer Society in honoring cancer survivors at the Opening Ceremony which will be held at the Santa Ana College Track on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 12 pm.

“It’s an honor to participate in the Relay once again. It’s important to come together as a community to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, to inspire others to continue the fight and to remind everyone that fighting cancer is a year round priority,” said Councilman Sarmiento.

The Relay for Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk taking place at the Santa Ana College Track which begins at 12 noon on Saturday and concludes on Sunday at noon. The Relay For Life movement offers an inspiring opportunity to honor cancer survivors, promote how individuals can reduce their cancer risk, and raise money to help end cancer.
