At approximately 7:15pm on Friday evening, police officers responded to the intersection of Bushard and Hamilton regarding a traffic collision involving a single vehicle, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Police officers arrived and found a vehicle at the northwest corner of the intersection on the sidewalk. Two young adult occupants were trapped inside, as the vehicle was stuck in between a light pole and a wall.
The Huntington Beach Fire Department responded and was able to extricate the occupants. Based on the injuries, the driver was airlifted to an area hospital.
The preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control, crashing into the northwest corner.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and no other information will be released at this time.
