In a recent incident, a driver under the influence ran a stop sign and collided with a police vehicle being driven by an officer, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.
Fortunately, neither the driver nor the officer sustained major injuries, but the outcome could have been far worse.
To help keep everyone on the road safe, the HBPD will have additional officers on patrol looking for drivers suspected of driving impaired. Please don’t fumble your life away this Super Bowl!
No matter who you are rooting for, celebrate responsibly. Appoint a designated driver or utilize ridesharing services if you plan on drinking or engaging in other activities that could impair your ability to drive safely.
