A driver in Tustin had a super close call this week when a huge metal bolt came flying at her car and got inserted in her windshield. It could have impaled her!
The Tustin police posted photos of the incident on their Facebook page. The bolt is fastened to a long wooden pole which is about two feet long. It can be seen sticking through the car’s windshield nearby the steering wheel.
The incident happened on Tustin Ranch Road north of Walnut.
Police believe that the object was roadway debris that somehow got flicked up into the car.
The driver of the car incredibly was not hurt.
Driving is the most dangerous thing we do now and vehicle accidents have become the leading cause of fatal accidents in the U.S.
Windshields nowadays can be incredibly expensive due to embedded electronics and sensors such as pop-up displays. Most auto insurance policies will cover windshield damage but the drivers have to pay the deductible which can be as much as $1,000.
