2014 OC Fair’s Third Week Features Lifehouse, KIDZ BOP, OC Fair 5k Fun Run & Celebrity Chef Kelsey Nixon Plus Free Activities and Family Fun July 30-August 3

Plus, the OC Fair will salute Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley and Newport Beach on July 30 and Garden Grove, Westminster and Stanton on July 31 with a community flag salute and ticket discount

Costa Mesa, Calif. (July 28, 2014) – The 2014 OC Fair (July 11-August 10) continues onto its third week of summer fun and festivities featuring world-class entertainment in the Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre and hit tribute bands in The Hangar. The OC Fair also welcomes the Oasis Camel Dairy with daily demonstrations and all-day exhibit that’s free with Fair admission. The Fair is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Here is a quick look of the events going on this week (July 30- August 3) at the 2014 OC Fair:

Wednesday, July 30 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Lifehouse / Five For Fighting in the Pacific Amphitheatre (7:30 p.m.)
  • Hotel California – A Salute to The Eagles in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Extreme Rodeo in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
  • We Care Wednesday Clothing Drive: Free admission and one carnival ride with donation of five (5) clothing items (new or gently used.) (Noon-3 p.m.)
  • $30 Unlimited Rides & 2 Free Games (Sold until 5 p.m. and valid until 8 p.m.)
  • Community Flag Salute: Representatives from Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley and Newport Beach will lead Fairgoers in singing the National Anthem at 12:30 p.m. at The Hangar and residents can enjoy a $2 discount on admission with a Fair coupon available at their local city halls or libraries.

Thursday, July 31 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Little Big Town / Sara Haze in the Pacific Amphitheatre (7:45 p.m.)
  • Kalimba – The Spirit of Earth, Wind & Fire in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Broncs & Bulls in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
  • Kids Day: Guests 12 and younger are free all day
  • $30 Unlimited Rides & 2 Free Games (Sold until 5 p.m. and valid until 8 p.m.)
  • Shop ‘Til You Drop: Look for Olivia the Orange for special shopping deals with select vendors all day.
  • Celebrity Chef Kelsey Nixon: Join Kelsey Nixon from Kelsey’s Essentials on the Cooking Channel as she displays her natural culinary talent on stage in The Hangar at 4 p.m.
  • Farmer’s Market: A California-certified farmers’ market where genuine farmers sell fruits, nuts and vegetables directly to the public. The Farmer’s Market will be held in Lot E from 8 a.m.-Noon before the Fair opens. Free admission and parking for the Farmer’s Market does not include Fair admission or parking.

Friday, August 1 (Open Noon-Midnight)

  • Orange County’s 125th Celebration: There will be a county-wide 125th birthday party to celebrate the growth and accomplishments achieved since OC was born and at 12:30 p.m. the OC Fair will honor the County by welcoming local representatives during the singing of the National Anthem and showing of a historical slide show.
  • The Fresh Beat Band in the Pacific Amphitheatre (6:45 p.m.)
  • Rumours – The Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Extreme Rodeo in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
  • $2 Taste of Fair Food: Enjoy Fair favorites for $2 per sample (Noon-4 p.m.)
  • $2 Rides & Games (Noon-4 p.m.)
  • Chef Challenge: Come and see talented culinary professionals compete in an element-themed cook-off at 7 p.m. in the OC Promenade.
  • OC Fair Express: Take a ride directly to the OC Fair from 8 different OCTA transit locations for only $2 one-way or $4 round-trip and receive a coupon for $3 OC Fair admission.

Saturday, August 2 (Open 10 a.m.-Midnight)

  • The Fab Four – When The Beatles Hit America in the Pacific Amphitheatre (8 p.m.)
  • KIDZ BOP – Dream Big, Sing Loud Tour! in The Hangar (1 p.m. and 4 p.m.)
  • Damage Inc. – Southern California’s Tribute to Metallica in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
  • Broncs & Bulls in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
  • Rise & Shine: $3 admission (10-11 a.m.)
  • OC Cupcake Classic Contest: Enter the best and the sweetest of your treats to the OC Fair’s 5th Annual Cupcake Classic. Online pre-registration due by Wednesday, July 30.
  • OC Fair Express & Metrolink: Take a ride directly to the OC Fair from 8 different OCTA transit locations for only $2 one-way or $4 round-trip and receive a coupon for $3 OC Fair admission. Metrolink riders can jump on the OC Fair Express for free from the Anaheim Canyon, Irvine or Santa Ana stations simply by showing their Metrolink ticket.   • OC Fair 5k Fun Run: Runners and walkers will take over the Fair for a 5k only the OC Fair could offer. Race starts at 8 a.m.
  • OC Fair Express & Metrolink: Take a ride directly to the OC Fair from 8 different OCTA transit locations for only $2 one-way or $4 round-trip and receive a coupon for $3 OC Fair admission. Metrolink riders can jump on the OC Fair Express for free from the Anaheim Canyon, Irvine or Santa Ana stations simply by showing their Metrolink ticket. Throughout the 2014 OC Fair (July 11-August 10), Fairgoers can also enjoy:

  • Military Get in Free: Free admission everyday for active U.S. military and veterans with appropriate I.D.
  • Read & Ride Program: Children (ages 5-11) who read at least two books and submit a completed OC Fair Read & Ride Book Report Form (available online at ocfair.com/readandride) will receive three free carnival rides.
  • Free Exhibits and Events: Culinary displays in the OC Promenade, All-Alaskan Racing Pigs, Russell Brothers Family Fun Circus, educational exhibits and contests for children in the Explorium, garden exhibits in the Centennial Farm and more.

The 2014 OC Fair, themed Summer Starts Here,is July 11 – August 10 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the Super Pass, Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre and events in The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open WednesdaySunday. Concert tickets, action sports reserved seats, single-day general admission and the popular Super Pass are available for purchase online at ocfair.com or from the on-site Box Office. Free parking and shuttle service are available on Saturdays and Sundays from the Experian parking structure located off the Bristol St. exit of the 405 freeway.
