Woman who helped collect signatures for Lake Forest carpetbagger Walker indicted

Lake Forest carpetbaggers Sherry Walker and Adam Nick

The woman who helped collect nomination signatures for Lake Forest carpetbagger Sherry Walker, Farzaneh Akhavi, 55, aka Frances Akhavi, has been  indicted on charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and money laundering, by a grand jury in Phoenix, Arizona, according to the East Valley Tribune.

Both Walker and Nick changed their names.  They are originally from Iran.  Walker also became a registered Republican right before running for the 69th Assembly District.

The indictment refers to the victim only by the initials SRG. But court records showed a federal civil lawsuit was filed against Akhavi last month by a California woman named Soraya Ghalchi, who claimed she was defrauded out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in the financial scheme, according to AZ Central.

Prosecutors say that Ahkavi fraudulently obtained a $211,000 mortgage and a $37,000 car loan in one of the victim’s names. She allegedly took more than $1 million from the other victim under false pretenses and used money from both to buy Arizona land, according to the UT San Diego.

Prosecutors also allege Akhavi took out loans in the woman’s name and misled her and her brother in the purchases of two commercial properties in the East Valley according to the Phoenix Business Journal.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing Akhavi collecting nomination signatures for Walker but Akhavi’s name does not appear on Walker’s nomination forms, which were turned in to the OC Registrar of Voters.

Walker’s primary election victory has been challenged by her Republican opponent, SAUSD Trustee Cecilia Iglesias.  The OC GOP Central Committee should be supporting Iglesias’ challenge and OC GOP Chairman Scott Baugh should demand that Walker be removed from the November General Election ballot.

Walker by the way is now saying that she moved to Santa Ana from Lake Forest in “July or August” 2013 and that the move was prompted by a pending divorce, although she said she’s not yet filed for divorce, according to the OC Register.

But if it is true that Walker and Nick are parting ways then how do you explain the fact that he and his company have been her only major campaign contributors, according to the CA Secretary of State?  Check it out for yourself:
