The use of face coverings by the general public is strongly recommended but is no longer required in Santa Ana as part of a countywide order by the Orange County Health Officer.

This policy is identical to an expired rule previously put in place by the City of Santa Ana. Additionally, all businesses and workplaces countywide must follow the California Department of Public Health’s reopening guidance for use of face coverings and other safety measures. The City’s rule requiring face coverings for essential workers who interact with the public no longer applies.

The City of Santa Ana encourages everyone to continue using face coverings, practicing social distancing, avoiding gatherings, washing hands and disinfecting surfaces whenever possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Anyone entering Santa Ana City Hall is required to wear a face covering.

The County’s full order on face coverings and other guidelines is at https://occovid19.ochealthinfo.com/article/oc-health-officers-orders-recommendations.

State guidance by industry on face coverings and other safety requirements is at https://covid19.ca.gov/industry-guidance/ and https://covid19.ca.gov/roadmap-counties/
