Westminster gangbanger arrested for the fatal shooting of a Santa Ana man

SANTA ANA, Calif. (September 10, 2024)—Santa Ana Police Detectives have arrested Cesar Gaspar, a 19-year-old man, for a fatal shooting that occurred on June 3, 2024.

On Monday, June 3, 2024, at approximately 6:42 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a shooting at the area of 1100 S. Poplar Street.

Police officers, along with a Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) crew, responded to the scene and located a 19-year-old male, identified as Angel Junior Vuelvas, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. OCFA treated the victim and transported him to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Update:

Santa Ana Police Homicide Detectives took over the investigation and identified Cesar Gaspar (19) of Westminster as the second suspect in the fatal shooting, which was determined to be gang-related.

On September 10, 2024, Gaspar was arrested and booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code § 187(a) – Murder.

In concurrence with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Gaspar will be charged with murder and scheduled to be arraigned on September 12, 2024, in Orange County Superior Court.
