Deceased – Anthony Ramirez (20) Santa Ana
On July 6, 2016 at approximately 10:06PM Santa Ana Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 2100 West Washington regarding shots fired and a subject down. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 20 year old Anthony Ramirez from Santa Ana, unconscious and unresponsive in the middle of the street. Ramirez was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced Ramirez deceased.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene. Based on the initial investigation it appears Ramirez was riding his bicycle in the area when he was shot. After the shooting, a vehicle was seen fleeing the area. It has not been determined at this time if the homicide is gang-related.
