Use trash cans to block Santa Ana streets and you will get a citation

In order to maintain the cleanliness and availability of the City right-of-way for all residents, City staff will resume issuing citations for items blocking the street such as for trash carts, cones, buckets, or furniture. The Public Works Agency has not been issuing citations for violation of “obstruction of the right-of-way” during Republic Services’ start of service.

Illegally placed trash carts and other objects can be reported using the MySantaAna app, calling the City of Santa Ana Public Works Dispatch (714) 647-3380, or emailing PWADispatch@santa-ana.org.

  • People wouldn't be trying to save parking if the city didn't allow houses to be crammed with people. If a house has 6 to 7 drivers, they will take up half the public parking spaces in your neighborhood. Multiply that with multiple houses doing this and good luck trying to find parking after work. Speaking of the new trash pickup company, we should have never been charged for the first month for their piss poor service.
