Over the past few weeks, police detectives have been investigating cases where a suspect stole iPhones from doorsteps shortly after a courier delivered them, according to the Irvine Police Department.
Through great police work, they identified a possible suspect.
On Thursday, after observing the suspect acting suspiciously in a neighborhood, they contacted him and found a freshly stolen iPhone and other cell phones in his car. At his home, 11 more stolen phones were recovered.
Erick Isami Esquivel, 29, of Tustin, was arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for grand theft charges.
