ANAHEIM, Calif. – Anaheim homicide detectives have arrested Paul Perez, a 36-year-old transient man, for the fatal shooting of Juan Leon.
On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at about 4:40 p.m., Anaheim Police officers responded to the report of an assault that occurred near the intersection of Western Ave. and Lincoln Ave.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located the victim, 35-year-old Juan Leon, on the 3200 block of W. Cabot Dr., suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid until Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel arrived on scene. Leon was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Over the course of the week, detectives identified Perez as the suspect. On May 13, 2023, Anaheim Police investigators arrested Perez in the City of Norwalk without incident. Perez was booked into the Anaheim Detention Facility for murder. Perez is being held without bail.
