Three suspects tried to steal cosmetics worth almost $2K but got arrested by H.B. police officers

Huntington Beach police officers responded to a theft at a department store in the 9800 block of Adams Ave. on Wednesday afternoon.

Two males and a female entered the store, making off with cosmetics valued at over $1,800. The suspects initially tried to escape in their vehicle but abandoned the car and took off on foot as the police officers arrived.

One male suspect was discovered hiding in a dumpster, while the other was located at a nearby business. The female was found attempting to climb over a wall inside a complex.

Long story short, all three suspects were arrested and booked on various charges, including burglary and organized retail theft. The female suspect provided a false identity, earning herself extra charges, and was found to have a felony theft warrant. Surprise, surprise!

Good news, though- the police officers returned most of the stolen cosmetics to the department store.

These suspects just might be celebrating Thanksgiving behind bars.

Retail thieves may want to avoid Huntington Beach. Unless they want free room and board at the Orange County Jail!
