Two men and a woman were arrested by the Seal Beach police on May 26, in connection with an armed robbery.
Seal Beach police officers were dispatched to the area of the Seal Beach Pier and the 10th St. parking lot on Friday, May 26 regarding a robbery that had just occurred. The responding police officers contacted two victims of the armed robbers as they arrived at the scene.
The first victim told the police officers that a black Honda had pulled into the lot and stopped behind him, blocking his vehicle from exiting from the parking spot. Two men then got out and tried to confront the victim, but he ran into his car and locked the doors.
The suspects allegedly slashed the victim’s rear tire and were banging on his windows. The victim then drove forward and over a parking stop to get away from them.
The other victim told the police officers that he was approached by the same two men shortly afterward. The suspects opened both of the front doors of the victim’s car, and one of them repeatedly punched him in the head as the other drew a knife and took the victim’s wallet.
The responding police officers later spotted a vehicle that matched the description of the suspects’ vehicle heading north on Seal Beach Boulevard. The victims recognized the men and women inside and the suspects allegedly had in their possession property from the second victim’s wallet.
Anthony Fuentes, 23, of Anaheim, is suspected by the investigators of being the man who slashed the first victim’s tires, and Carlos Cifuentes, 22, of Garden Grove, is allegedly the person who punched the second victim. Both of these suspects were booked on suspicion of robbery. Fuentes was also accused of vandalism.
Wendy Guzman, 22, of Orange, is suspected to be the driver of the robbers and she was booked her on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony after the fact. She and Fuentes were released on bond, while Cifuentes was still in custody as of Tuesday evening.
