Three L.A. County men were arrested for robbing a U.S. Secret Service agent in Tustin

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 9:33 PM, three suspects, all with multiple arrests and convictions in Los Angeles County, drove to the City of Tustin to commit a robbery, according to the Tustin Police Department.

The primary suspect, Jamonte Fitzgerald Johnson, exited the vehicle and pointed a firearm at the victim’s face, demanding his belongings. During the robbery, the victim, an off-duty U.S. Secret Service Agent, defended himself with his firearm, and the suspects fled the scene.

The TPD Criminal Investigation Unit worked diligently to identify the three suspects involved in this brazen crime. It was discovered during the investigation that one of the suspects, Bertran Claude Bell, was apparently struck by the victim’s gunfire. The third suspect was identified as E’Shon Dwayne Dodson.

Through various investigative leads, Johnson was taken into custody in the City of Riverside on July 11, 2024, with the assistance of CDC Parole.

Dodson was apprehended in the Watts area of Los Angeles on July 17, 2024, with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau Burglary-Robbery Task Force.

Bell was taken into custody in the City of Los Angeles on July 24, 2024, also with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau Burglary-Robbery Task Force.
