There were three shootings reported in Santa Ana this weekend

On Saturday, February 25, 2017, at about 5:30 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to 700 South Townsend Street, just northeast of Jerome Park, after receiving multiple calls of about a shooting. When officers arrived they located a 17 year old Hispanic male with a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim was taken to a local hospital for his injuries, according to SAPD Case # 17-05222.

This shooting happened in Santa Ana’s Ward 4, which is represented by Councilman David Benavides.

On Sunday, February 26, 2017, at about midnight a male Hispanic victim was involved in an argument with a suspect at the Circle K at 3200 West Warner. The victim got in his vehicle and drove away. Shortly after he noticed he was followed by the suspect. The suspect then shot at the victim and his vehicle was hit. The victim was not injured, according to SAPD Case # 17-05248.

This shooting happened in Santa Ana’s Ward 6, which is represented by Councilman Sal Tinajero.

On Sunday, February 26, 2017, at about 9 p.m. SAPD police officers responded to the area of 1000 West 2nd Street regarding multiple calls of a shooting. When officers arrived they located two vehicles with gunshot damage but did not locate any victims. 17-05301

This shooting happened in Santa Ana’s Ward 5, which is represented by Councilman Juan Villegas.

  • Yeah, but let's focus on getting rid of our ICE contract and laying off a bunch of jail staff, and our sanctuary status. These council members are a joke! I had hopes for Villegas, but he hasn't don't diddly in my opinion. Let's bring back the strike force and let them go nuts on these cholos. Have the DA put these changos in jail and make their family pay for crimes these minors commit. Let's see how many leave to the IE or elsewhere. Let's hold people accountable and see what happens!
