The Tustin Police recovered a stolen car and a ghost gun and arrested four suspects

Police officers located a reported stolen vehicle and also seized a FMBUS – a firearm manufactured by unlicensed subject, otherwise known as a “ghost gun,” according to the Tustin Police Department.

Five suspects were detained and two adults and two juveniles were arrested.

If you are convicted of misdemeanor grand theft, you face up to a year in county jail and a maximum fine of $1,000. If you are convicted of felony grand theft, you face a sentence of 16 months, two or three years in county jail and maximum fine of $10,000. In addition, there are several enhancements that increase your punishment beyond this range. If you are convicted of petty theft, you face up to six months in county jail and a maximum fine of $1,000, according to the Law Firm of Wallin & Klarich, in Tustin.

Existing law requires firearms to be inscribed with a unique serial number and prohibits an individual from removing or altering that serial number. Violating these provisions is punishable as a felony under current law and possession of an unserialized firearm is a misdemeanor, according to Assemblyman Freddie Rodriguez.
