The I-5 Central Corridor HOV Project is scheduled for daytime electrical work to repair a lighting fixture on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020. This activity will require the Southbound I-5 Grand Avenue carpool on-ramp to be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
OCTA and Caltrans’ construction team has been able to expedite this work while traffic demand was lower due to COVID-19 reduced travel demand. Should you have questions or issues with the construction please call (800) 724-0353 or e-mail central5fwy@octa.net.
This project has added an additional carpool lane in each direction on I-5 between SR-55 and SR-57 to reduce traffic congestion, bottlenecks, encourage ride-sharing and improve traffic flow. Construction was originally scheduled to be completed in early 2021 but is substantially ahead of schedule. To sign up for construction alerts or for more information, visit www.octa.net/i5Central.
Dates and times are subject to change if there is inclement weather or if there are unforeseen construction constraints.
