The SAPD’s Easter Cruising enforcement resulted in the arrest of a wanted felon

Advisory: SAPD Traffic Officer Working Easter Weekend Cruising Enforcement Arrest One Of Mariposa County Sheriff’s Most Wanted Suspects

Arrested: David Santiago Garcia (25) Santa Ana

Current Booking Charges: DUI, Evading, Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License

On 3-27-2016, at approximately 1130PM, a SAPD Motor Officer working the Easter Cruising Enforcement observed a 2004 Lexus fail to stop for a red traffic signal. When attempting to stop the vehicle for the traffic violation, the driver later identified as suspect Garcia fled from officers. The vehicle pursuit ended in the 1200 block of South Towner where the suspect fled on foot. Officers located the suspect in the yard of a residence in the 900 block of West Wilshire where he was taken into custody without incident.

A record check of suspect Garcia returned with five outstanding warrants and was listed as one of the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Most Wanted Suspects.

Garcia was wanted by Mariposa County Sheriff’s for: CPC 288: Oral Copulation, CPC 311.3: Sexual Exploitation of a Child, CPC 261.5 (c):Unlawful Sexual Intercourse, CPC 136.1:Dissuading a Witness from Testifying, CPC 148: Obstructing a Police Officer, and CPC 422: Criminal Threats. Bail $150,000.

Garcia also has additional outstanding warrants for: CVC 10851: Unlawful taking of a Vehicle, CPC 484: Use of a Forged Credit Card, CPC 243 (E)(1) Battery – Cohabitant and CPC 484: Theft.

Suspect David Santiago Garcia was booked into the SAPD Jail on his current charges and outstanding warrants.
