The SAPD seized 300 pounds of illegal fireworks but it probably won’t matter much

Advisory: Santa Ana Police Department Illegal Fireworks Enforcement Operation

SAPD performed an illegal fireworks enforcement operation and confiscated approximately 300 pounds of illegal fireworks and issued two(2) $1,000 fine administrative citations.

Remember possession or use of illegal fireworks is a crime and can result to one year in jail and a $1,000 minimum fine.

You can report illegal fireworks anonymously by calling (714) 245-8771.

Safe and Sane fireworks are ONLY allowed during the following dates and times:

July 1st: 12PM – 10PM
July 2nd & 3rd: 10AM – 10PM
July 4th: 10AM – 9PM

  • Ban the freaking fireworks completely from Santa Ana. The are used in neighborhoods like Minnie Street to shoot them at police cars and fire engines. They are not celebrating 4th of July!!

    • You know what Pablo, I couldn't agree with you more! As a resident of this city for over 30 years, I'm sick and tired of all these M-80's, bottle rockets, and so on going off all day and night. The sad part is that the PD doesn't have the man power to do anything about it. It's so frustrating trying to sleep, watch the ball game, or anything else with those mini bombs going off every other minute. I understand that the firework stands are a huge tax benefit to the city, and I know that it's a nice source of income for a lot of the non-profits, but seriously I'm tired of these kids just blowing them up. I bet you that 50% couldn't name 10 presidents, or the actual date of independence.
