The SAPD is not aware of any intended ICE actions in Santa Ana

While there are reports of ICE involved enforcement actions beginning Sunday, July 14, 2019, the Santa Ana Police Department is not aware of any intended ICE actions in Santa Ana.

Santa Ana’s Sanctuary City designation, as defined in Santa Ana Ordinance NS-2908, prohibits members of the Santa Ana Police Department from engaging in any immigration enforcement. As such, the Santa Ana Police Department will not participate in any ICE enforcement actions should they occur.

Public safety requires community partnerships, and engaging in immigration enforcement operations erodes the trust necessary to provide effective public safety services in our City.
