The SAPD arrested a gangbanger suspected of murdering Jennifer Rodriguez

SANTA ANA, Calif. (September 5, 2024) — Santa Ana Police detectives have arrested Roland Rocha, a 42-year- old male suspect, for a fatal shooting that occurred on July 29, 2024.

After an extensive investigation, Santa Ana Police Homicide Detectives determined the homicide was gang-related and identified the suspect as Roland Rocha (42) of Santa Ana. On September 3, 2024, Rocha was located and arrested in the City of Compton with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Rocha was booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code § 187(a) – Murder.

In concurrence with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Rocha will be charged with murder and scheduled to be arraigned on September 5, 2024, in Orange County Superior Court.

On Monday, July 29, 2024, at approximately 4:05 a.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received reports of a shooting victim in the area of 600 S. Harbor Blvd. Officers responded to the scene and located a 20-year-old female, identified as Jennifer Ninel Rodriguez of Santa Ana, lying near the entrance of a business with apparent gunshot wounds to her upper torso.

Orange County Fire Authority also responded to the scene and rendered aid. Despite life-saving measures, Jennifer succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital.
