SANTA ANA, Calif. (October 17, 2024)—Santa Ana Police Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation regarding the death of a 29-year-old woman.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at approximately 2:34 p.m., Santa Ana Police Communications received a report of a suspicious death inside a residence located on the 1000 block of W. MacArthur Boulevard.
Officers responded to the scene and discovered 29-year-old Amy Magpoc of Santa Ana deceased in a bedroom. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office was requested to the scene and determined the death to be a homicide.
During the investigation, officers learned from witness interviews that Amy resided at the location with her boyfriend, Daniel Lynch (33) of Santa Ana. Based on the information gathered, Daniel was identified as a suspect in the homicide.
Homicide Detectives, with the assistance of the Santa Ana Police Department’s Gang Suppression Unit, located Daniel in the City of San Bernardino. He was taken into custody without incident and subsequently booked at the Santa Ana Jail for Penal Code § 187(a) – Murder.
