Pulitzer Prize-winning author Viet Thanh Nguyen will join other Vietnamese-American writers and editors for a panel discussion and poetry reading on Saturday, June 3, at Santa Ana Public Library.
The free event, which was organized in collaboration with the Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association (VAALA) as part of their Viet Book Fest, will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Ana Main Library, located at 26 Civic Center Plaza in Downtown Santa Ana.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the groundbreaking anthology “Watermark: Vietnamese American Poetry and Prose,” several of the original editors will discuss the book and will be available to sign copies. Nguyen, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “The Sympathizer,” which is being made into an HBO television series, will moderate the discussion panel.
In addition, Lan Duong, acclaimed author of “Nothing Follows” and associate professor of Cinema & Media Studies at the University of Southern California, will read and discuss her new poetry book.
A limited number of free copies of “Watermark” and “Nothing Follows” will be available while supplies last.
Parking for the event is available directly across the street from the Main Library at Civic Center Drive and Van Ness Avenue. This parking is only available on Saturdays for library programs and patrons.
