The Santa Ana City Council will vote today on a resolution condemning the Trumper insurrection

The City Council will consider two resolutions:

  • RESOLUTION CONDEMNING THE INSURRECTION AND VIOLENCE THAT OCCURRED AT THE U.S. CAPITOL ON JANUARY 6, 2021 AND CALLING FOR A PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER

Recommended Action: Adopt a resolution condemning the insurrection and violence that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 and calling for a peaceful transition of power.

  • Discuss and consider directing City Manager to direct staff to prepare an ordinance or resolution requiring large grocers and pharmacies to provide hazard pay to their employees for a defined period of time during pandemic – Councilmember Phan and Mayor Sarmiento

During the state of emergency in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in compliance with state and local stay at home orders, no physical location will be provided for city meetings. The meetings will instead be live-streamed from remote locations.

Speaking during the meeting will be done through Zoom. You must sign up to speak, and then be present in the Zoom conference during the item that you would like to speak on.

Comments will be held during the beginning of the meeting for ALL comments on agenda items. Members of the public may only address the City Council on items on the Special Meeting Agenda.

The public can begin joining the speaker queue at 6:00 p.m. for this Special meeting. Once a caller has entered the meeting, they will be placed in a holding queue. Callers will be prompted to speak in the order received. After the Clerk confirms the last three digits of the caller’s phone number or Zoom ID and unmutes them, the caller must press *6 or microphone icon to speak. Callers are encouraged, but not required, to identify themselves by name. Each caller will be provided three (3) minutes to speak.
