Apparently the Orange County Democratic Party Central Committee endorsed the following Santa Ana candidates yesterday:

  • Loretta Sanchez for United States Congress (Re-Elect)
  • Councilman David Benavides for Mayor
  • Eric Alderete for City Council
  • Valerie Amezcua and Myriam Tinajero for the Santa Ana Unified School Board
  • Jose Solorio, Nelida Yanez and Mark McLoughlin for the Rancho Santiago Community College District’s Board of Education

“Pulido had withdrawn his request for an endorsement shortly before the meeting, so the tally overwhelmingly favored Benavides. Thirty-four voted to back Benavides, while only three voted against it,” according to the Voice of OC.

Benavides may have gotten this endorsement but he is not raising any money or campaigning at all.  Strange.

  • No Al did not run the meeting, did your source tell you I was at this meting. If so then I can verify this for you. If I was not at this meeting then I can't .

  • The "Santa Ana Spring" aka "the revolution" is just a rebranded version of Al Amezcua's failed campaign. The players in the forefront may have changed but the same clowns are working behind the scenes.

    • Cruz I love Bozo and Ronald McDonald too. Doesn't mean I want them running Santa Ana. Amezcua's a baboso! Just ask his clients.

  • Barking up the wrong tree. Your problem is the majority council. Amezcua has nothing to do here.

You actually believe the majority council, and other candidates would agree to have Amezcua run their campaigns???????? You are smoking bad herb.

    • "The Revolution" is about weakening Pulido in the eyes of the voters so that come next election a vulture like Amezcua can swoop in and take over. Nobody really wants Benavides to win, it's a smokescreen. The clowns want us to think it's about winning but it's not.

Amezcua and company just want to weaken Pulido and take the candidates money to help Valerie, el payaso enojado dama, get elected to the school board.

I got my herb from one of Al's clients, no wonder it's bad.

  • You have it all wrong. Pulido is weakened now because the majority council is independent of Pulido. Pulido does not control the majority .....4 votes necessary to conduct city business.

When Alderete and Reyna get elected the majority will be 6 to 1 if Pulido wins. Will be irrelevant only able to do mayor honorary functions.

The majority council has already won.....they have the united 4 votes now. Not controlled by Pulido. His power has been able to gather/ control 4 votes. The power shift is now to the Pulido independent council majority.

Has nothing to do with Amezcua. If you do not understand this others do.

    • As soon as the election is over Benavides and Reyna will run back groveling to Pulido. That gives him 3 votes. All he needs is one more to be back in charge.

  • If Benavides looses to Pulido makes no difference in the majority.. He is in the majority now will be in the Pulido independent majority then. No need to rouen to Pulido.

The power is not in the mayor's office it is in the control of the 4 votes. United the majority council has it.

    • Not really Cruz. You need four votes to control the Council. Pulido doesn't have them now. But give him time. After these clowns have spent themselves they will come crawling back.

I would be happy by the way to support a decent candidate for Mayor. Amezcua wasn't a decent candidate and neither is Benavides.

  • Maybe Ms. Yanez should pay back the money she has stolen from the California's public schools before she decides to run for a seat. Shame on her.
