The OC Health Care Agency is leaving Santa Ana and heading for Irvine after the OC Board of Supervisors voted to spend $78 million dollars on a new campus in Irvine.
The OC Health Care Agency has been located at 405 W. 5th St. in Santa Ana and while many operations will move to Irvine when construction of their new campus completed by December of 2024, one would expect that the agency will maintain certain key operations in Santa Ana as well.
The new OCHCA campus will include the personnel who don’t directly serve patients including administrative offices, a pharmacy and lab, warehouse space and an emergency operations center.
The new OCHCA campus will be on Marine Way across from the Great Park and near the county’s second planned Be Well OC facility, which will provide crisis treatment and followup services to people with mental and behavioral health issues.
The County is using funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and State Enhanced Laboratory Capacity grants to help with the cost of the project.

Really? Moving to Irvine and spending money best used elsewhere. The majority of mental health and healthcare issues are in Santa Ana. The building they already have there is beautiful. They would be better served to keep County Buildings in the County seat.
