SANTA ANA CITY COUNCILMEMBERS UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSE BRUCE BAUER FOR SANTA ANA SCHOOL BOARD
Santa Ana, CA – The Councilmembers of the City of Santa Ana have unanimously endorsed Bruce Bauer in the race for the Santa Ana Unified School District Board. Bruce Bauer is currently the Vice-Chair of the City of Santa Ana Planning Commission.
The City of Santa Ana City Council is composed of six members who are elected on a City-wide basis:
• Ward 1, Vicente Sarmiento, Mayor Pro Tem
• Ward 2, Michele Martinez
• Ward 3, Angelica Amezcua
• Ward 4, David Benavides
• Ward 5, Roman A. Reyna
• Ward 6, Sal Tinajero
Each of the six Councilmembers has separately, and individually, endorsed Bruce Bauer in the race for the Santa Ana Unified School District Board.
Responding to news of the endorsement, Bruce Bauer remarked:
“I am grateful to receive the endorsement of each of the City of Santa Ana Councilmembers. Each has his or her own constituency so they represent a broad range of the residents in the City. I believe their endorsement is important for me for my work on the School District Board. Santa Ana is the fourth-densest city in the U.S. It also has the lowest amount of open space, per resident, in the State. The density of our City requires that the City partner with the School District, and vice-versa, in areas that are important to residents in the City including open space issues, public safety concerns, etc. It is vitally important that anyone elected to the School Board enjoy a good relationship with the elected officials in the City. I believe that this endorsement signifies that I have the relationships to help the City-School District partnership flourish. I am excited what this might mean for the residents of the City!”
The general election is November 8th and three seats will be up this year on the School Board. Bruce Bauer is running for one of the three seats, along with his running mate, Beatriz Mendoza.
The endorsement of the Council Members of Santa Ana comes on the heels of the announcement that Democratic Foundation of Orange County had endorsed Bruce, and is the latest among his many other distinguished endorsements that include, as follows:
