The Derek Bordeaux Group will be playing the oldies at Original Mike’s on Jan. 12

The multi-talented Derek J. Bordeaux will be playing your favorite oldies, with his band, the Derek Bordeaux Group, at Original Mike’s on Wednesday, January 12, from 7:30pm – 10:30pm.

Bordeaux says that “our community needs a spot where we can kick it, a spot where we belong that’s just for us. We don’t have to get all dressed up and be Hollywood.”

The band will go from 8pm-11pm, with a DJ that spins in between breaks and until 1am. Food is great, seating is plentiful, and the dance floor is FREE!

The Derek Bordeaux Group has been a staple in the LA and Orange County music scene. The Derek Bordeaux brand of R&B, Motown and Soul has become the standard for all musicians, both headliner and cover artist. For more than 25 years, Derek Bordeaux has performed in Southern California and L as Vegas , becoming one of the most sought-after artists for his sultry renditions of Motown classics, Jazz and Blues standards.

Derek’s passion for Jazz has given him the chance to play with some of Orange County ’s best, including: The Wayne Wayne Band, Rob Mullins, Karl Denson, and Barbara Morrison. Derek has also had the opportunity to perform with the Long Beach Municipal Jazz Orchestra, conducted by Larry Curtis.

Other artists in the business that Derek has opened for and/or performed with are; Kool & The Gang, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, The Commodores, Macy Gray, The Beach Boys, The Coasters and Drifters, Al Green, George Thorogood, Buddy Miles, The Shirelles, The Righteous Brothers, Poncho Sanchez, Kenny G, K.C. & The Sunshine Band, The Funk Brothers, Edgar Winter and Bill Medley.
