Recently, detectives identified an advertisement for the sale of illegal fireworks which led to the arrest of two suspects from Tustin, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
One of the suspects was also in possession of a concealed firearm.
Detectives confiscated two additional firearms and approximately 170 pounds of illegal fireworks.
Many of ourCosta Mesa residents have told the police time and again that they do not appreciate the use of loud, illegal, and dangerous fireworks. To mitigate the use of illegal fireworks, the CMPD will focus on getting illegal fireworks off the streets of Costa Mesa.
Fourth of July reminder: only Safe & Sane fireworks are allowed in Costa Mesa. These legal fireworks go on sale starting June 30.
