The Coroner says Crosby victim was killed by blunt force trauma to her head

The Santa Ana Police Department announced today that the Coroner completed autopsy today of the Annie Kim Pham (23) Westminster, who was beat to death by bar patrons outside of The Crosby, a hipster bar/restaurant in Downtown Santa Ana.

The Coronoer determined that the cause of death was “complications from blunt force trauma to head.”

Defense attorney Michael Molfetta, who is representing one of the four people  being sought in the case (his client has not been arrested yet). said that “my understanding is that Pham threw the first punch, which landed on the face  of Vanesa Zavala. From there the thing escalated very quickly,  very violently, and there were a number of people in line with Ms. Pham that  attacked the people that Ms. Zavala was with,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

Vanesa Zavala, 25, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the incident. And Santa Ana police are looking for four other suspects — two men and two women. Zavala’s next court appearance is a pre-trial hearing scheduled for January 30th in Santa Ana Superior Court, according to KPCC.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or might have information including cellphone video are urged to call Santa Ana police detectives at (714)245-8390 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.  There is a $10k reward being offered for information that leads to the arest of Pham’s killers.

  • Oooh nice one. Of course--go ahead and say the person dead threw the first punch, even when it doesn't fit her reputation, size, witness testimonies, how the issue got started (yeah right, like she's going to accidentally walk into a picture and then SHE is going to be the aggressor) or anything else in the least. I didn't want to use this word until more information came out, but this kind of tactic reeks of pure 'scumbag'.

    • I forgot to add it doesn't match her character, as described by her friends, her writings, her other work and interests, etc etc.

I also forgot to add: yeah, blame the young woman and assassinate her character as she can't defend herself. That's just ugly.

  • He's just reporting what was in the LA Times. More witnesses will come forward. The facts will come out.

  • The LA Times says: "three 'independent witnesses' with no ties to either group who verified this account" that Pham threw the first punch which landed on Zavala's face.

    • Correction amigo. A defense lawyer hired by one of the hate killers said that. The Times just reported it.

Defense lawyers are of course total scumbags. So if you want to roll with that go ahead.

  • to begin fights are never one sided. also why haven't witness statement been reported countless times. her life and job keeps coming up on everything what she did and what not. but what about the witness statements that the media keeps ignoring like that Kim was with at least a dozen of her friends in line and when the fighting started its was about 12 vs 5. you mean to tell me the 5 people over powered 12 individuals plus the 1 or 2 security guards that were there! what were her friends doing video taping the incident instead of helping their friend? with friends like that she wouldn't need enemies. Yes at the end of the day Kim died for being in an altercation were eye witnesses say she threw punches first. so once again this is never a one sided story like the media is trying to claim. but the day in court will come were the truth will come out.

    P.S
there has been more than a few incidents were Latino's have been killed by asian people so that race card kims followers keep playing is getting old.
