The City of Santa Ana has been ranked as the 3rd best run city in California

The City of Santa Ana has been selected as the 3rd best-run city in CA and the 63rd best-run city in the US according to a new study by Wallet Hub.

In order to determine the best- and worst-run cities in America, WalletHub compared 150 of the most populated cities across six key categories: 1) Financial Stability, 2) Education, 3) Health, 4) Safety, 5) Economy and 6) Infrastructure & Pollution.

Next, they calculated an overall “Quality of City Services” score for each city based on its weighted average across all the metrics. Finally, for each city, they divided the Quality of City Services score by the “Total Budget per Capita” (dollar amount) in order to construct a “Score per Dollar Spent” index — displayed as “Overall Rank” in the Main Findings table above — which they then used to rank-order the cities in our sample.

Overall the City of Santa Ana ranked #63 on their list, on a national basis. They ranked #39 with regard to the overall quality of city services and #81 with regard to the Total Budget per Capita.

Other Orange County cities that were ranked on the Best Run City list include:

  • Huntington Beach – Ranked number one overall in the U.S.
  • Anaheim, Ranked #69

Amazingly the City of Irvine was not on the list….
