Investigators from the California Highway Patrol CHP – Border Division Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) developed information leading to an investigation involving four suspects involved in approximately ten thefts.
The suspects, or “boosters,” committed the thefts in Orange and Los Angeles counties. Throughout the investigation, two addresses were associated with the “boosters”, and it was confirmed stolen merchandise passed through the addresses in Anaheim and Bloomington. The foursome was responsible for approximately $10,000.00 in loss from August 24, 2024, to September 27, 2024.
On October 14, 2024, CHP investigators served multiple search warrants and recovered approximately $143,746.79 in stolen retail merchandise. As a result, four suspects were arrested in Anaheim for their involvement in the thefts and booked into the Orange County Jail. The case will be filed with the Orange County District Attorney’s office.
The CHP has dedicated Organized Retail Theft teams in Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco who work with retailers to combat sophisticated crews that continue to victimize merchants throughout the state.
