Thank you Carlos Bustamante!

None of us knows for sure what is going to happen to Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamante, who is under investigation by his employer, the County of Orange, for allegations of sexual harassment and an alleged attempt to tamper with the witnesses.  However, what I do know is that this scandal has been gold for our blog, to wit we have gone from averaging just over 22,000 visits a month to over 30,000 visits in the month of September, 2011.  Thank you Carlos!

Here is a breakdown of our site visits over the past year – note the immense spike in readership in September:

And here is a rundown of the top NSA posts this past month:

Note that Bustamante posts utterly dominated in September.  Five or our top ten posts were Bustamante-related.  Thank you Carlos!

Thanks also to Kinde Durkee, the former Treasurer of the Democratic Party of Orange County.  Note that her tag came in #3 in our top 10, in September.  The bumbling Chairman of the DPOC, Frank Barbaro, nabbed #6 in our top 10 in September.

And the most popular NSA posts of all time, regarding Little Saigon’s pervy Cafes, took two spots on our September top 10.  Imagine what could happen if Carlos was to visit one of these cafes?  Ruh roh!

  • "However, what I do know is that this scandal has been gold for our blog, to wit we have gone from averaging just over 22,000 visits a month to over 30,000 visits in the month of September, 2011."....... Hmmmmm

Admin, have you noticed that it was I who started commenting here during that period.

Like it or not, every time I comment the public, council, FBI, CIA and the world want to know what Fiala has to say.

Same as in the OJB; if I stop commenting your numbers will plummet.

So say thank you Mr. Fiala to make NewSantaAna rock!

  • How come no one is writing anything about this Bustamante?
Were are all the organizations that protect women rights?
Please keep the good work, get this guy out of town?

  • That blog went from averaging over 38,000 visits a month, a year ago, to their current average in September of under 30,000 visits. You can see their data here: http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s20liberaloc&r=33.

If they would actually go after Republicans, instead of just bashing Santa Ana's Democrats, I think they would do a lot better as that is one would expect from a blog purporting to be for O.C. liberals...

  • So Carlos decided to resign. I expect that this will make it stuff to do his job as a council member.

But maybe not, Clinton continued to do his job.
