Subject: Suspect Arrested in Anaheim Hills Residential Burglary

On January 21, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. Anaheim Police were called to an Anaheim Hills home to investigate a residential burglary. The victims, a family of four, reported a male suspect had broken into their home while they were getting ready for bed. The male homeowner confronted the suspect, who then ran from the home. The homeowner gave chase and caught up to the suspect in the front yard. After a brief struggle, the suspect was able to get away.

Responding Officers and Crime Scene Technicians conducted a thorough initial investigation which resulted in the collection of DNA believed to belong to the suspect. The DNA sample was submitted to the Orange County Crime Lab and earlier this week a suspect profile was obtained.

Based on the DNA evidence, Anaheim Police Burglary Detectives established probable cause to arrest Nathan Christopher Duc, 25 (10-18-89), of Anaheim for the residential burglary described above. This afternoon, Duc was stopped by Orange Police Officers who encountered him on an unrelated car stop in their city. Anaheim Police Burglary Detectives responded to the scene and arrested Duc. He was later booked at our Detention Facility for Residential Burglary and is being held on $50.000 bail.
