Correa, the American Red Cross and others to host a Family Safety Day

SANTA ANA – State Senator Lou Correa, American Red Cross, Think Together, OCAPICA and Horizon Cross Cultural Community Center invite the community to attend a Family Safety Day.  Family Safety Day will be held at the Garden Grove Community Center (11300 Stanford in Garden Grove) on Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

In celebration of March being American Red Cross Month, this event is designed to provide families with resources and take-home tools to prepare families for emergencies.  There will be fun and interactive day of safety awareness and disaster preparedness presentations for parents and children alike.

“The Family Safety Day is an opportunity for families to come together for a day of valuable take-home tools on disaster preparedness and safety awareness,” said Senator Correa.  “Being prepared in a case of emergency will ensure that we keep our families and homes safe.”

The program will include: a legislative update on safety, demonstrations on compression-only CPR and First Aid, disaster preparedness tips, and bike safety information.  Lunch will be provided to families that participate in the different program offered throughout the day.  The first 250 families will also receive a disaster kit.
