“Everyday more children are born with autism, it’s important that we make changes now to ensure that our children have a brighter, healthier tomorrow,” stated Senator Lou Correa “California and Orange County, like many states and communities across the country, must clearly define legislation to protect and support the growing number of persons with Autism and related disorders. The California Senate Select Committee and respective regional task forces are leading the way to address the issues and concerns of this important segment of our population,” Correa.
Since starting in February 2010, OCART, under the California Senate Select Committee on Autism and Related Disorders, have looked at the various issues that people with autism and related disorders encounter.
This town hall will have speakers to discuss topic issues relating to autism services including health insurance coverage, early identification and treatment, employment/education/transitioning, and housing.
