Officer Mike Gibbons received his 4th Master and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
In 2016, Officer Gibbons recovered 81 unoccupied stolen vehicles and 48 occupied stolen vehicles resulting in 59 arrests. The total estimated value of those recoveries was $783,600.00.
Officer Gibbons is the first Santa Ana Officer to earn the Lifetime Achievement Award. According to A.T.A.C., “He is the third officer in our Division, which covers Orange, San Diego, Imperial and part of Riverside County. Only two other officers have previously received this award; Officer A. Plata from Indio P.D. in 2016 and Officer J. Quintero from CHP in 1995.”
In order to achieve the Lifetime Achievement Award Officer Gibbons had to earn twenty-five 10851 awards and 4 Master Awards (Every five 10851 awards earns you a Master). Officer Gibbons was awarded Vehicle Theft Recovery – 2016 Officer of the Year Sponsored by the Auto Theft Advisory Committee (A.T.A.C), a partnership between law enforcement, insurance and other auto related companies to reduce auto theft. A.T.A.C is a subcommittee of the Western States Auto Theft Investigators Association (W.S.A.T.I).
