Santa Ana summer youth job fair set for April 26

Community Alert: UPCOMING SUMMER JOB FAIR FEATURES FORTY EMPLOYERS & IS AIMED AT HELPING SANTA ANA’S YOUTH GET JOBS

Santa Ana, CA (April 10, 2014) – With the national jobless rate for workers ages 16 to 19 above 20 percent since October 2008, the Santa Ana WORK Center is committed to helping Santa Ana’s youth get jobs . On Saturday, April 26 from 9:30 am to 12 noon, the Center will hold its annual Summer Youth Job Fair, giving people of all ages the opportunity to meet and interview with over forty employers in a single location.

The event will be held at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center (SARTC) and will feature sought out employers such as the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, Knott’s Berry Farm and local employers including Von’s/Safeway, the Santa Ana Public Library, LA Fitness and Taller San Jose.

In addition to the job fair, Mike Marinoff, the Santa Ana WORK Center’s career planning expert, will deliver a series about maximizing the job hunting and job fair experience.

The job fair is being held thanks to a partnership between the Employment Development Department (EDD) and America’s Job Centers of California. Job seekers are encouraged to come “dressed for success” and prepared to meet potential employers. The job fair is geared toward youth employment opportunities but all job seekers are welcome.
