Santa Ana now has 2,055 COVID-19 cases as of June 19

The OC Health Care Agency reported a total of 9,576 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County and 2,055 cases in Santa Ana, on June 19. The Santa Ana case numbers don’t include infected inmates in County jails.

There were 257 new cases reported on June 19, in Orange County. Seven new deaths were reported today. To date 257 victims have died in Orange County. There are currently 336 victims in local hospitals and 142 of them are in Intensive Care Units. To date an estimated 4,591 victims have recovered.

• Huntington Beach reports 463 cases
• Orange reports 417 cases
• Fullerton reports 370 cases
• Buena Park reports 294 cases

• Westminster reports 205 cases
• Tustin reports 166 cases
• Costa Mesa reports 202 cases
• Fountain Valley reports 85 cases

The California Department of Public Health reported has 165,416 confirmed cases to date and there have been 5,360 COVID-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The CDC reports these national cases:

• TOTAL CASES: 2,178,710
• 23,138 New Cases
• TOTAL DEATHS: 118,365
• 733 New Deaths

Every person has a role to play. Protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense:  

• Staying home except for essential needs/activities following local and state public health guidelines when patronizing approved businesses. To the extent that such sectors are re-opened, Californians may leave their homes to work at, patronize, or otherwise engage with those businesses, establishments or activities.
• Practicing social distancing.
• Wearing a cloth face mask when out in public.
• Washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Covering a cough or sneeze with your sleeve, or disposable tissue. Wash your hands afterward.
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
• Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
• Following guidance from public health officials.

What to Do if You Think You’re Sick

Call ahead: If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
