Santa Ana now has 1,774 COVID-19 cases as of June 13

The OC Health Care Agency reported a total of 8,269 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County and 1,774 cases in Santa Ana, on June 13. The Santa Ana case numbers don’t include infected inmates in County jails.

There were 217 new cases reported on June 13, in Orange County. Seven new deaths were reported. To date 217 victims have died in Orange County. There are currently 306 victims in local hospitals and 151 of them are in Intensive Care Units. To date an estimated 3,947 victims have recovered.

• Buena Park reports 245 cases

• Tustin reports 147 cases
• Costa Mesa reports 167 cases
• Fountain Valley reports 72 cases

The California Department of Public Health reported 145,643 confirmed cases and 4,989 deaths as of June 13.

The CDC reports these national cases:

• TOTAL CASES: 2,038,344
• 22,317 New Cases
• TOTAL DEATHS: 114,625
• 711 New Deaths

Protect Yourself and Your Family

Every person has a role to play. Protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense: 

• Staying home except for essential needs/activities following local and state public health guidelines when patronizing approved businesses. To the extent that such sectors are re-opened, Californians may leave their homes to work at, patronize, or otherwise engage with those businesses, establishments or activities.
• Practicing social distancing.
• Wearing a cloth face mask when out in public.
• Washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Covering a cough or sneeze with your sleeve, or disposable tissue. Wash your hands afterward.
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
• Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
• Following guidance from public health officials.

What to Do if You Think You’re Sick

Call ahead: If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
