Santa Ana now has 1,648 cases of COVID-19 as of June 10

The OC Health Care Agency reported a total of 7,737 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Orange County and 1,648 cases in Santa Ana, on June 10. The Santa Ana case numbers don’t include infected inmates in County jails.

There were 147 new cases reported on June 10, in Orange County. Thirteen new deaths were reported. To date 198 victims have died in Orange County. There are currently 306 victims in local hospitals and 146 of them are in Intensive Care Units. To date an estimated 3,511 victims have recovered.

• Buena Park reports 220 cases

• Costa Mesa reports 156 cases
• Fountain Valley reports 72 cases

The California Department of Public Health reported 133,489 confirmed cases and 4,697 deaths as of June 9.

The CDC reports these national cases as of June 7:

• TOTAL CASES: 1,973,797
• 17,376 New Cases
• TOTAL DEATHS: 112,133
• 950 New Deaths

Every person has a role to play. Protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense: 

• Staying home except for essential needs/activities following local and state public health guidelines when patronizing approved businesses. To the extent that such sectors are re-opened, Californians may leave their homes to work at, patronize, or otherwise engage with those businesses, establishments or activities.
• Practicing social distancing.
• Wearing a cloth face mask when out in public.
• Washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
• Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
• Covering a cough or sneeze with your sleeve, or disposable tissue. Wash your hands afterward.
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
• Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
• Following guidance from public health officials.

Call ahead: If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath), call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
