Santa Ana Library to host a Youth Engagement Forum on 8/23

Community Alert: Santa Ana History Room and Teenspace Program Bring Youth and Civic Leaders for Santa Ana Civic Archive Youth Engagement Forum

SANTA ANA, CA – On Friday, August 23, 2013 the Santa Ana Public Library History Room and TeenSpace Program will host the Santa Ana Civic Archive Youth Engagement Forum from 6pm-8pm at the Southwest Senior Center.

With support from the Cal Humanities, in partnership with the NEH, and the California State Library through a Library Services and Technology Act grant, the Santa Ana Public Library’s History Room and TeenSpace Program will be bringing together Santa Ana youth and civic leaders. The event will comprise of civic discussion to increase youth awareness about civic issues and what it means to be civically engaged in their community.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to view the Youth Civic Archive photo essays and civic themed articles written by the program participants. Opportunity prizes will be given at the event to youth attendees. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. All Santa Ana youth, non-profit organizations, and civic leaders are welcomed to attend the event; please R.S.V.P. with Desirée Noriega at dnoriega@santa-ana.org by August 22nd, 2013.

The Santa Ana Civic Archive Youth Engagement Forum is organized and run by the Santa Ana History Room and volunteers. The Santa Ana History Room is located inside the Santa Ana Public Library at 26 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
