Lucio Luna, a 49-year-old Santa Ana man, will serve one year in jail after crashing his car into Peter Finocchi, a 61-year-old homeless man who was in a wheelchair, back on June 28, 2019. Luna will also be on probation for five years.
The collision happened at about 10:35 p.m. at night, at First and Townsend Streets, according to the SAPD. Finocchi was crossing First Street in a crosswalk according to the police investigators.
Finocchi was rushed to a hospital in extremely critical condition and was pronounced dead on July 11, 2019, at 9:25 a.m., according to the O.C. Coroner.
Luna did not stop at the scene after the crash. But the SAPD got a call the next day from a resident regarding a suspicious vehicle. SAPD police investigators later determined that the vehicle had been involved in the crash. The vehicle led the police to Luna.
Luna pleaded guilty to a felony count of hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury. A misdemeanor count of driving without a valid driver’s license was dismissed as part of the plea bargain.

Typical low life tweeker Mexican, comit a crime and run a hide like a coward punk ass bitch.
LOCK THIS LOW LIFE UP, THEN DEPORT THIS TRASH BAG
I'd like to know why it is that Luna gets a slap on the wrist with 1 year, for killing someone, and running. Is it because the victim was homeless? Maybe doesn't matter as much? This sentence is not justice!
I agree with you. Giving him a 1 year sentence isn't enough as it's a slap on the wrist. He should have been charged with vehicular manslaughter and sentenced to 25 yrs to life!
There is no justice for the "homeless." Are they less-human and undeserving because they're homeless?
WTH!?!?!
Judge needs to be recalled. What an insult to the deceased man and his family
