Santa Ana 5K run and ciclovia set for August 20 in DTSA

Join us for the Downtown Santa Ana (DTSA) 5k Run and Ciclovia! This free event will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Main and Fourth Street.

The day will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. with a free 5k run open to runners of all levels. Test your endurance and speed as you pass Santa Ana historical landmarks such as the Orange County Courthouse, Eddie West Stadium and Old City Hall. First, second and third place winners will receive a custom plaque and participants will receive a custom medal to commemorate the day*. Post –race refreshments and healthy snacks will be provided to race participants. Those interested in participating are encouraged to pre-register for an opportunity to receive a free event t-shirt**.

After the 5K run, the streets will remain closed for the start of the Ciclovia event. Adults and children alike are invited to walk, run or bike the route while stopping to visit local eateries, retail establishments and health and wellness booths along the event route. Fun fitness activities and entertainment will be scheduled throughout the day, as well as a VIP basketball game. You will not want to miss this great community event!

The goal of the City of Santa Ana’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is to promote health, fitness and nutrition through classes, programs, and special events for the community. Our mission is to encourage active lifestyles and bridge generational, cultural, and socioeconomic boundaries through health and wellness.

*Plaques will be provided to the first, second and third place winners in both the men and women’s divisions. Participant medals will be provided while supplies last.

**Event t-shirts are provided to pre-registered participants only, while supplies last.
