SANCHEZ DECORATES HOLIDAY TREE WITH ORNAMENTS FROM LAMPSON ELEMENTARY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (CA-47) is proud to display ornaments from Lampson Elementary in Garden Grove on her office holiday tree. Rep. Sanchez asked elementary schools in her district to create handmade ornaments that represented the holiday spirit in Orange County.

The 2011 Capitol Christmas tree was chosen by the United States Forestry Service from Stanislaus National Forest in the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the finalist was chosen by the Architect of the Capitol. As is tradition, the State of California also provided House and Senate offices with smaller trees, including Rep. Sanchez’ office. The theme this year is “California Shines.” This is the fourth time that California has had the honor of providing the Capitol Christmas Tree.

“I’m so happy to see these beautiful ornaments from Lampson Elementary adorning our holiday tree!” said Rep. Sanchez. “Thank you to the artists at Lampson for sending me your creations. Though I am away from Orange County, these ornaments make me feel like I have a little bit of home with me.”

Attached is more information and a photo of Rep. Sanchez with ornaments from Lampson Elementary.

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is proud to represent California’s 47th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, and parts of Fullerton in Orange County. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces and a senior member of the Committee on Homeland Security. Rep. Sanchez is also a member of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition and sits on the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee.
