Riverside man arrested for an Easter shooting in Orange County

Tristen Skylar Parker, a 31-year-old man from Riverside, was arrested after a shooting that took place in Newport Beach on Easter Sunday, according to the Newport Beach Police Department.

Parker is facing felony charges of attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm and shooting from a motor vehicle, and sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated murder, discharge of a firearm and the personal use of a firearm.

Newport Beach police were dispatched to the 2700 block of Newport Boulevard, between 26th and 28th streets, after receiving reports of gunshots at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Parker was involved in some sort of conflict with another man before he opened fire toward the victim from a vehicle. Parker allegedly fired three rounds from a semi-automatic handgun toward his victim who miraculously avoided injury.

Parker was arrested on Monday evening with assistance from the Irvine Police Department. Police said evidence linking Parker to the crime was found and noted it was an isolated incident with no continued threat to public safety.

Parker’s arraignment was rescheduled for April 28 at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach. Parker is being held on $1 million bail. He listed his occupation as “sales.”
