FULLERTON, Calif. – A San Bernardino County man was sentenced to 20 years and eight months in state prison today for human trafficking, pimping, and pandering of several women.
Defendant: Ronald Preston Spurlock, 39, Grand Terrace
Found guilty by a jury on March 8, 2017, of the following felony counts:
Sentence: 20 years and eight months in state prison
Circumstances of the Case
Spurlock is a human trafficker/pimp who exploits women for financial gain. Pimps often establish rigid rules their victims are expected to follow including setting daily quotas the victims are expected to fulfill. The victims are required to turn over all payment they receive for sex acts from sex purchasers to their pimp. Failure to follow these rules can result in physical and/or emotional abuse.
NBPD and the OCHTTF investigated this case.
Members of the OCHTTF and the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office work proactively to protect women and minors from falling victim to commercial sexual exploitation. This case was investigated by OCHTTF, a partnership between Anaheim Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Costa Mesa Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Irvine Police Department, NBPD, OCDA, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Ana Police Department, and community and non-profit partners.
