Parents arrested for leaving their twin babies in an unattended vehicle, in Tustin

The Tustin Police Department arrested the parents of two twin babies who were left unattended in a locked car at a Tustin shopping center parking lot on Tuesday night, Dec. 26, as reported by the O.C. Register.

The Tustin Police Department sent police officers to the scene, just after 8 p.m., after receiving calls about the two infants in a vehicle at the parking lot of the Target store located at 2300 Park Avenue, in Tustin.

The police officers arrived to find the approximately one-month-old twins, a boy and a girl — in child-restraint seats. They were alone in the vehicle.

An Orange County Fire Authority crew was summoned and they subsequently were able to open the vehicle, after the police officers were unable to initially find the parents of the twin babies.

The infants were then taken to Children’s Hospital of Orange County in Orange as a precaution, the according to the Tustin Police. The twins were reportedly not hurt.

The parents were arrested by Tustin police officers on suspicion of child neglect when they finally returned to their vehicle.
