It looks like Santa Ana Council Member Michele Martinez won’t be advancing in the race to replace Jose Solorio in the 69th Assembly District.  So far the top two in that race are Tom Daly, a Democrat, and Jose Moreno, a Republican.  Martinez is in fourth and the candidate that Orange County labor backed, Julio Perez, is in third. If you are not in the top two, it is game over!

Had labor backed Martinez she might well have made the top two.  Instead Democrats are now stuck with Daly, who has a distinctly anti-Latino record as the former Mayor of /Anaheim.  Moreno also is from Anaheim, which means that Santa Ana no longer has a horse in this race, thanks to labor and Perez, not to mention that other foolish Democrat, Francisco Barragan, who hardly got any votes at all.

I will be backing Moreno in November.  We have several months to let Daly have it.  He has a terrible record of wasting taxpayer resources, as the Orange County Clerk-Recorder.  We will be bringing all of that out for sure.

It is a shame that Martinez did not go for Daly’s jugular during this campaign.  She had enough money to put out a lot of mail but none of it was hard-hitting.  Daly got a free pass from the other candidates too, and Perez stupidly attacked Martinez instead of going after Daly.

Martinez has two more years to go on the Santa Ana City Council.  I think she is not very happy that Solorio backed Daly as well as backing her.  And while she had the support of Mayor Miguel Pulido, it was tepid at best.  Will she challenge Pulido for Mayor again?  That could happen.  I know she is very frustrated right now.

Perez is now the new Phu Nguyen – another Democrat who carpetbagged and got his rear kicked.  The labor stooges that backed Perez should all be fired, starting with OCEA boss Nick Berardino.  They wasted their members’ dues for nothing.  Fools.

  • "As for Michele, she can come back and run for Mayor or Assembly in two years. Her name I.D. is building"........ Hmmmmmmm

As long as she will be surrounding her self with wrong people she will never progress.

After the final candidate list was in and it contained a single republican and strong democrat she made strategic mistake not to concentrate on the republican to defeat leave Daly for the November.

That would also take care of Perez.

I have warn her about it but "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink".

Unless she will mature she has no place in the politic.

  • Well art we all have issues don't we? I know for a fact your issues are far deeper than mine. And be honest, you turned on janet after she refused to endorse you over bustamante. And p. Bonicrap, you obviously haven't read pedrozas rants for very many years have you? He changes his mind like I change my socks. Here's a quote for both of you...... "a wise man can play the part of a clown but a clown can't play the part of wise man" - malcom x

    • Wrong. I asked her to stay neutral in that race. I never asked for her endorsement.

  • Oh art you spent countless hours kissing her communist ass and defending her and you know it. "Hell hath no fury like a pedroza scorn"-jose s.
